ASUS LS221H and LG Flatron W2284F
It is hard to understand why LG decided to position the Flatron W2284F as premium class monitor since it only attracts attention by thin case and ingenious design of power-on button. Glossy plastic and curvy contour aren’t something incredible nowadays while rather absurd shape of the support deteriorates the general impression.
W2284F could have better characteristics. I couldn’t find the promised dynamic contrast of 30000:1, colour reproduction is quite poor with strong bias towards cold tones, while positive features include only decent evenness of lighting and combination of good response time with minimum artefacts. If it weren’t for the latter W2284F would differ from the majority of modern 22″ monitors. Big database of monitor drivers on this link
LG Flatron W2284F can be of gaming interest due to fast matrix and accurate compensation of response time and for those first of all paying attention to the appearance of a monitor yet the latter issue can be contested by other rivals starting from Samsung of Topaz series to the above mentioned ASUS LS221H.
There are many resources in Internet, where people interested in the history of Orient can find many exciting materials concerning Japan, one of the most mysterious countries, a country with centuries-old cultural heritage and technologies stretching far into distant future. Each of those resources is unique in its own way and remarkable for its content and bright materials collected and posted for detailed overview of Japanese culture and widening horizons of the guests. However, one shortcoming is intrinsic for major part of these sites; many of them present materials about ancient Japan, but can hardly find content about modern culture of this mysterious country; when there is some material about modern Japan, there are surely no materials about such areas as manga and anime. So, it is necessary to look for other resources which may satisfy the need to familiarize with the artistic side of the land of the Rising Sun. And if a guest of a site wishes to find an answer to an important question that could only be answered by a qualified artist working in manga and anime genres, then again he/she needs to move around various artistic forums. Ok, this gum-beating can go on interminably.
Group of people, amazed by the modern history of Japan, its customs, traditions, and incredible fantasy of Japanese artists, who gave the world wonderful images of anime characters, inspired us to create this portal, which is unique in its own way. Dear manga and anime admirers, on pages of this site, you can not only find materials covering images of comics (manga) characters, but will also learn how to draw them.
Moreover, you can immerge into the history of ancient Japan, familiarize with modern Japanese culture and cuisine, and understand that Japanese anime is not just cartoons but an art genre; you will reveal the secrets of oriental medicine, and background of the ancient philosophy used by Japanese people in the everyday life until today.
This is not exactly a blog. The notion depends on the point of view and intentions. Predominantly, I write witty reviews and sketches from countries of Far East, and translate foreign materials.
Should we speak about what I wanted to publish since the very beginning, since the very initiation of the project idea, I would answer unequivocally - exactly such materials. Somebody may call it “yellow”, others will start calumniate the site for publications, their topics you can find in “Anime and manga” context. You have the right for own point of view.
